Gulf Film Gulf Film LLC is the UAE-based leading motion picture distributor and exhibitor in the Middle East through its chain of Grand Cinemas in the United Arab Emirates and Gulf region. Gulf Film LLC was established in 1989 as a partnership between Ahmad Golchin and Salim Ramia. Investing heavily in the regional distribution of major studio productions as well as independent movies, Gulf Film further expanded its industry profile through the creation of the Grand Cinemas group, today the largest chain of cinemas in the Middle East with a workforce of 450 people in the distribution and exhibition sectors. Holding the #1 ("Titanic") and #2 ("King Kong") spots of all-time releases in the UAE, Gulf Film is responsible for the lion's share of Arabic and English titles across the Middle East. Gulf Film has an agreements with leading North American, European, and Australian motion picture production studios such as Universal, Paramount, DreamWorks, Lionsgate, Spyglass Entertainment, Mandate Pictures, Morgan Creek, Arclight Films, Summit Entertainment and Hyde Park among others. Gulf Film distributes and exhibits over 200 titles per annum. Affiliates of Gulf Film Phars Film, with 43 years' experience in distribution of English and Hindi titles, and Al Nisr Cinema and Film Distribution, covering the total mass of Hindi and Bollywood movies brought to the UAE and the Gulf. Laser Subtitling Division Gulf Film operates the largest laser subtitling laboratory in the Middle East. Inaugurated in 2003, the multimillion dollar lab utilises the latest technologies in Laser Etching Machines, which are fitted with electromagnet gates that ensure top speed and reliability. While subtitles produced are mainly in Arabic, French and English, other foreign language films can be handled, such as Persian, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and even Khoxa. Publishing Having a commitment to provide entertainment to the region, Gulf Film conceived and developed a monthly entertainment publication, the Grand Cinemas Movie Guide. With an in-house editorial and design team, the publication offers a targeted medium for promotions of movie campaigns, and has teadily risen to become an unparalleled movie handbook in the UAE. The entertainment glossy is strategically distributed across all Grand Cinemas multiplexes, major retail outlets and residential communities, with an active print run of 30,000 each month and a database of over 10,000 readers. Gulf Film has also opened GrandCinemas.com, an online source that boasts over a million hits per month. Serving the UAE, Jordan and Lebanon, GrandCinemas.com provides current showtime listings and the latest movie information, in addition to a subscription based weekly newsletter. On January 21, 2007, Gulf Film has opened the Grand Cinemas E/Ticket at GrandCinemas.com, in association with Visa and supported by official media partners 7 Days and Arabian Radio Network. Moviegoers have the option to book and buy their movie tickets online. E/Ticket was launched as part of the MyGC Club loyalty program which offers members exclusive rewards and discounts. Gulf Film exclusive agents Figueras Figueras International Seating SA is the largest and highest quality cinema and public seating manufacturer worldwide, and is represented throughout the Gulf by Gulf Film LLC. Through this relationship, Gulf Film represents Figueras’ 75 years of experience in design, ergonomics, comfort, safety and quality products and service in the market. Cinemeccanica Cinemeccanica is the world’s top cinema projector manufacturer and cinema equipment supplier, represented in the Middle East by Gulf Film. The business relationship between Gulf Film and Cinemeccanica goes far back, starting with Gulf Film as Cinemeccanica’s representative in the UAE and coming through to an almost partnership for most of the Middle East area. DTS Gulf Film was appointed the sole agent of DTS in the UAE as well as the Service Center to the Middle East, to sell and service DTS products throughout the region. In 2006, Gulf Film was awarded the DTS Cinema Dealer Award. Grand Cinemas Introduced into Lebanon in 2007 under the ownership of Salim Ramia, the Grand Cinemas brand has become a statement of quality entertainment throughout the region. Grand Cinemas has consistently strived to set the industry standard - and succeeded. The proof is in the steady proliferation in Grand Cinemas, having acquired the Al Massa cinemas in 2003, followed in 2005 by the acquisition of Century Cinemas.
