Brainstorm Digital Brainstorm Digital is an American visual effects studio. The company provides high quality visual effects for films. Headquartered in Brooklyn, NYC, the company serves major Hollywood studios. Key persons Richard Friedlander, visual effects producer Friedlander attended New York University's film school in the 1980's. Upon graduating, he worked as a production assistant for several commercial production companies before his first film, “Harry and Son,” directed by and starring Paul Newman. Thanks to Newman, Friedlander met and worked with film editor Dede Allen. For the next 22 years, Friedlander worked alongside Academy Award winning editors including Stephen Rotter (“The Right Stuff”), Alan Heim (“All That Jazz”), Bill Reynolds (“The Sting,” “Sound of Music”), Dan Hanley and Mike Hill (“Apollo 13,” “A Beautiful Mind”). Beginning in 1992, Richard Friedlander joined Ron Howard's editorial team where he worked on all of Howard's films for the next decade, including “Apollo 13.” This experience led him to the collaboration with his future partner, Glenn Allen. Friedlander worked on several major visual effects pictures, including Tim Burton's “Sleepy Hollow,” Brian DePalma's “Mission to Mars,” and Ron Howard's “A Beautiful Mind,” (Academy Award - Best Film). As a result of these experiences, Friedlander launched his own project, Brainstorm Digital, in January 2006. Glenn Allen, visual effects producer, writer, composer After graduating Emerson College in 1991, Glenn Allen established himself as a filmmaker. He worked on feature films in various departments, including camera, sound and film editing. In 1994, Allen was hired by Ron Howard as an assistant editor on “The Paper.” Allen has worked for 10 year alongside Howard. Allen worked on the Academy Award winning “Apollo 13,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Mission to Mars,” “A Beautiful Mind” (Academy Award - Best Picture) and “The Missing.” He also worked with directors such as Brian DePalma, Jonathan Demme, and Frank Oz. Glenn Allen's talent as a visual effects producer and composer has been recognized on films such as “The Stepford Wives,” “Cinderella Man,” “Freedomland,” “Man of the Year” and “The Brave One,” starring Jodie Foster. Allen has also shown his talents as a screenwriter on an independent film, and has written and directed his own award-winning independent feature. . . . .
