Tandem Communications Tandem Communications is a German film production and distribution company. It is located in Munich, one of the most important production centers of entertainment content in Germany. Founded in 1999, the company establishes itself as a leading European partner for international productions and worldwide distribution of television event programs. Tandem's areas of activity include development, production, sales and marketing. In April 2008, Tandem optioned the rights to “The Pillars of the Earth” from author Ken Follett. 20 years after its first publication, “The Pillars of the Earth” went into production in June 2009 as a groundbreaking event series produced by Tandem and Montreal-based Muse Entertainment in association with Scott Free Films. In 2009, Tandem launched its new genre label, ACTION PACK(ED), for action, adventure and fantasy programming. The first titles for the new label are TV films “The Lost Future” and “Treasure Guards,” both set for production in 2010. Tandem launched the Patricia Cornwell movie franchise from Emmy® Award-winning executive producer Stanley M. Brooks in 2009 with “At Risk” and “The Front,” based on Cornwell's bestselling crime novels.
