Zahra Pictures
Ahmad Zahra was born in Damascus, Syria and raised in both Syria and the United Kingdom. After acquiring a Medical Degree from Damascus University, Ahmad went on to study filmmaking at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After several years at 20th Century Fox, Ahmad went on to found Zahra Pictures in 2004. Zahra Pictures' main goal is to produce and distribute films about cultural diversity of the world, contribute to public dialogue and provide an understanding between different cultures. The company's film “On Common Grounds,” produced and directed by Ahmad Zahra and broadcasted on Hallmark Channel, demonstrates this commitment to dialogue and understanding. Zahra Pictures has a strong relationship with Faith & Values Media, a New York-based broadcaster, to co-produce an award winning daily show, “New Morning,” about ordinary people with extraordinary life experiences for Hallmark Channel. Another goal of Zahra Pictures is to support new talents through diverse casting, short film productions and training opportunities. In 2005, Zahra Pictures joined the Network of Arab American Professionals (NAAP) to co-sponsor the 1st Arab-American Filmmaker Competition. . . . .
