Celador Celador is a British motion picture and television production company. Founded in 1983, the company has become one of the most successful entertainment production companies in the United Kingdom. It has produced a number of popular entertainment shows, but is probably best known for “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. In 2004, Celador Productions expanded into factual entertainment with “You Are What You Eat.” Running for four series, the program is one of the most successful of its kind and has now been seen in over 40 countries worldwide. Since then the company has grown its portfolio of popular factual to include “No Waste Like Home” for BBC Two showing viewers how to save money and the environment by making some close to home changes, and “Turn Back Your Body Clock” for Channel 4 featuring cutting-edge medical analysis to transform contributors lifestyle and add years to their life. In 2006, Celador offered the rights and UK program library of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” for sale, with a view toward the eventual sale of other parts of the business. Celador International is now owned by 2waytraffic, a format distribution company based in the Netherlands, which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment since June 4, 2008. Celador has delivered a variety of comedy programs including stand-up, panel games, sitcoms and clip shows including "24 Carrott Gold" with Jasper Carrott, "All About Me," "The People Versus," "Winning Lines," "Britain's Brainiest" and "Commercial Breakdown." New series "Commercial Breakdown" launched on BBC One in June 2008 with Jimmy Carr, one of the UK's most distinctive and original comedians. In 2008, Celador reinvented the classic game show "Mr & Mrs" into a star-studded version for ITV1, All Star Mr & Mrs presented by Philip Schofield and Fern Britton. Celador produces a wide variety of radio plays, documentaries, panel and comedy shows for Radio 2 and 4. Recent titles include "That Was Then this Is Now" with Richard Herring, "James Bond Short Stories" read by Damien Lewis, "Adolf Hitler: My Part In His Downfall" with Paul Merton, and "Three Off The Tee" with Tony Slattery. In 2007, managing director Danielle Lux led a management buyout of Celador Productions, and the company is now jointly owned by Lux, alongside Murray Boland, Celador Productions' creative director, and Heather Hampson, director of production. Celador's radio division is headed by Liz Anstee. Paul Smith, former chairman and managing director of Celador Productions, is now solely chairman and managing director of Celador Films.
