UTV Software Communications Ltd. is a leading media and entertainment company in India with subsidiaries in the United States, United Kingdom and South East Asia. It focuses on movie making and distribution, television content production, games, as well as broadcasting. UMP plc, a company incorporated in the Isle of Man, is a wholly owned subsidiary of UTV Software Communication Limited (UTV-India) which is a company incorporated in India. UMP plc is currently also the holding company of UTV Motion Pictures (Mauritius) Ltd. (UTV-Mauritius), which was incorporated in Mauritius on October 12, 2004 and maintains movie production of the entire UTV group. UTV-Mauritius initially carried on movie distribution in regions outside North America, UK and India. It has recently acquired the rights to distribute some Hollywood and Indian movies throughout the world. UTV has inked the deal with Miramax for distributing all media rights to their library for the next 10 years.
