“In Bruges” (2008) overview [ “In Bruges” official poster ] Bruges, the most well-preserved medieval city in the whole of Belgium, is a welcoming destination for travellers from all over the world. However, it could be a final destination for hit men Ken (Brendan Gleeson) and Ray (Colin Farrell). A difficult job in the Flemish city was ordered right before Christmas by their London boss Harry. Ray is a miserable bastard who makes it clear he's not happy about being in Bruges, but Ken convinces him that their boss Harry has a job for them there, as well as allowing them a chance for some sightseeing, none of which improves Ray's mood. Ray, still haunted by the bloodshed in London, hates the city, while Ken delights in beauty and serenity of Bruges. Then Ray and Ken get into all sorts of messes and meet strange characters, all of whom will play a part in the larger picture. Ray and Ken's vacation becomes a life-and-death struggle of darkly comic proportions and surprisingly emotional consequences...
