The Royal Film Commission, Jordan The Royal Film Commission, Jordan (RFC) was established in 2003 to develop and support film industry and promote local and international features in Jordan. RFC is led by the Board of Commissioners chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein. The RFC is a member of the Association for Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the professional and educational organization for film commissions. AFCI Members assist motion picture, television, commercial, industrial and stills production throughout the world. In 2005, the RFC launched Rawi (Arabic: 'Storyteller'), the screenplay development lab to support talented Arab screenwriters. They have a chance to develop their work in a uniquely creative environment under the guidance of internationally acclaimed experienced screenwriters from all over the world. Over the past few years, Rawi has supported many talented screenwriters. Rawi's Alumni completed projects include: “Pomegranates and Myrrh” written and directed by Najwa Najjar, “America” written and directed by Cherien Dabis, and “Son of Babylon” written and directed by Muhammad Al-Daradji. Founder of the Jordan Media Institute. H.E. Mrs. Suhair Al-Ali Jordan Minister of Planning and International Cooperation since 2005. Former General Manager and Country Officer of Citigroup in Jordan. Former General Manager of the Saudi American Bank office in New York. Master's Degree in Development Economics and BS degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Hashemite Fund, Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Center, Board of Trustees of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (Jordan), Board of Trustees of the Royal Society for Fine Arts, Board of Directors of the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee for the World Bank Gender and Economic Research and Policy Analysis. Founding member of the International Women's Forum (Jordan office) and the Jordanian American Business Association. H.E. Mr. Aqel Biltaji Member of the House of Senate, the Foreign Relations and the National Parliamentarian Committees. Chairman of the Tourism and Heritage House Committee. Mrs. Samar Dudin Theatre director and writer. Consultant and expert in creative arts and education. Executive Director of Takween Creativity Project. Mr. Ali Maher Architect and artist.
